Trend Reports
Microservices and Containerization
According to our 2022 Microservices survey, 93% of our developer respondents work for an organization that runs microservices. This number is up from 74% when we asked this question in our 2021 Containers survey. With most organizations running microservices and leveraging containers, we no longer have to discuss the need to adopt these practices, but rather how to scale them to benefit organizations and development teams. So where do adoption and scaling practices of microservices and containers go from here? In DZone's 2022 Trend Report, Microservices and Containerization, our research and expert contributors dive into various cloud architecture practices, microservices orchestration techniques, security, and advice on design principles. The goal of this Trend Report is to explore the current state of microservices and containerized environments to help developers face the challenges of complex architectural patterns.

I totally agree!

I realized that things aren't in-depth here. I'll be putting out another post soon which gets into code and a lil bit of architecture.

Explaining everything here would be a bit challenging. Why don't you have a look at this link.

Oh! My bad. You mentioned a few databases, that got me mistaken.
I guess I'll be looking forward to your next article. :)

What are your views on DGraph, a distributed open source graph database?

Great answer. I think we should dedicate an article to cloud vendors.

Oh! So AWS, GCP and Azure are not VPS providers. They are full fledged cloud vendors (with IaaS, PaaS and everything). On the other hand, DO's main business is droplets (or VM's). Sure its diversified a lot now. But it is still classified under the VM bracket with the likes of Linode, Vultr, etc.

Thanks for the correction Caspar. Kubernetes is the defacto standard at this point. DO is joining the club now (not that late in my opinion). Just so I'm clear, what exactly do you want me to update?

Anytime! I personally use Figma as well. It would be great if you could share your experience with figma once you get to play around with it.

Hey Buddy. Yes my bad. But it does offer you free credits to get started with. You will be able to use it for free for around 6 months.
